“One thing I love when traveling is trying out local diners. Chef Darrell's Mountain Diner was above and beyond what I even thought was possible. I spent the weekend in the area recently and had the best Eggs Benedict for my birthday. I loved the atmosphere and the owner came out and mingled with customer's and was very welcoming!!!! Very neat story behind the diner itself. 10/10 incredible establishment 👏”

“Chef Darrell is an amazing chef and owner of this North Country eatery just outside of Blue Mountain Lake on Route 30. We enjoyed a cheeseburger and a tuna melt with fries. He even came out from his kitchen to say Hi to his diners! Clean, friendly and good food 👍”

“A not so hidden gem in the ADK! Constant turnover of diners, friendly and fast service. Chef Darrell himself took our order as it got very busy just after we arrived. We didn't really look at the day's specials, but the regular menu is pretty varied. I enjoyed my French dip sandwich and lemonade. Reasonably priced for an independent restaurant in a seasonal area.”

“We were visiting from Albany, NY - looking for someplace for our family to dine. This showed up in our search and so we decided to give Chef Darrell a try. Not disappointed. Food was delicious. Mom & husband had the Fried Chicken, my sons both had burgers and i had the open Turkey sandwich. Portions were great. Turkey gravy was definitely homemade. Darrell was constantly coming out to welcome everyone and knew several regulars by name. Plan on going back in the morning for breakfast which i am sure will be great as well.”

“Chef Darrell's Diner is a gastronomic oasis in a food desert. We rode in on a Monday afternoon of sweltering heat and flies, almost all eateries on ADK RT30 were closed. Literally a breath of fresh air. With quite a number of specials available, tough to make decisions being first timers. The Lobster Mac n Cheese and Blue Bacon Burger were excellent choices; Chef Darrell and Co made us feel welcome, as did the diner itself being very well kept. Can't wait to return and try more menu items. Thank you everyone!”

“For the BEST food in Blue Mountain Lake, NY, two words, Chef Darrell's! We ordered take out: Sheperd's pie, meatloaf, chicken potpie, beef stew - ending the delicious meals with luscious apple/blueberry pie. Don't walk --> run to this picturesque, hometown diner. You will not be disappointed. Just look at my mom's plate and she is quite picky. Thank you, chef Darrell!”

“When I went searching for a nice place halfway between Pleasant Valley and home, I was delighted to find a bright and cheerful diner. The fish and chips came with an excellent tartar sauce. My granddaughter was tired from a week at camp and didn't have an appetite. She had a cup of chamomile tea and nibbled a little bit of my dinner, and left with a very fine cheesecake. Five minutes out she was fast asleep in the car.”
